Cow

An encyclopedia of the 67 most important creatures in Minecraft.
Mobs (short for mobile entities) are all the living creatures that inhabit the world of Minecraft. From calm cows grazing in meadows, through mysterious Endermen teleporting with blocks in their hands, all the way to the fearsome Warden lurking in the Deep Dark, every mob has its own behavior, stats and drops. The game has more than 85 different creatures, and with every update Mojang adds new ones.
We split mobs into five main categories by how they treat the player: passive (they never attack), neutral (they attack only when provoked), hostile (they attack on sight), bosses (the most powerful creatures, with a health bar) and utility (built by the player for defense). Below we describe 67 creatures you will meet most often, with stats, behavior and useful tips.
Passive mobs never attack the player, even when provoked. Most of them can be bred, tamed or used as a source of resources. They are the backbone of the Survival economy. How their babies look and grow up since version 26.1 is covered in our article on baby mobs.
