Minecraft advancements
The complete list of all 126 advancements in Minecraft Java Edition 26.3. Each one comes with an unlock guide, tips and XP rewards.
What are advancements in Minecraft?
Advancements (achievements in older versions) are a goal system in Minecraft Java Edition that guides you through the stages of the game. Each one asks for a specific action, from simple things like crafting a crafting table to extreme challenges like having all 27 status effects at the same time.
The advancement system was introduced in Minecraft 1.12 (2017) and replaced the earlier "achievements". It is built on progress trees with five main tabs, and each advancement can be a task, a goal or a challenge.
Challenges are the hardest advancements. They get a special frame and reward you with experience points. Goals are medium difficulty, and tasks are the basic steps of progress.
How do I check my advancements?
Press L (the default key) to open the advancements screen. You'll see 5 tabs at the top of the screen, one for each category.
On multiplayer servers, an admin can turn off the announcements for new advancements with /gamerule announceAdvancements false. Bedrock Edition has a different "achievements" system instead of advancements. It works differently and requires cheats to be turned off.
