Minecraft server status checker

Enter the IP address or domain of a Minecraft server to see whether it's online. We show the player count, MOTD, game version, icon and the list of players currently on. Works with Java Edition and Bedrock Edition servers.

How to use the tool

Type the server address in the field above. It can be a domain (for example mc.hypixel.net), an IP address (for example 192.168.1.100) or an address with a port (for example mc.example.com:25566). Click Check or press Enter. The tool queries the server through the mcsrvstat.us API and shows the result within a few seconds.

What does each piece of information mean?

Embed code: show your server's status on your website

After checking a server you can copy a ready-made HTML snippet and paste it on your website, forum or profile. The embed shows the server address, player count and version in a neat box with a link to minecraft.pl. It's a good way to promote your server and keep players informed about its status.

The embed code is static: it shows the data from the moment of the check. If you want a dynamic widget that updates in real time, get in touch through the contact form.

Popular servers to check

Here are a few popular servers you can check to try the tool:

Troubleshooting

The server shows as offline, but I know it's running

Check that you entered the right address and port. The default Java Edition port is 25565 and the default Bedrock Edition port is 19132. If the server uses a custom port, add it after a colon: address:port. Some servers have a firewall that blocks status queries from outside. In that case the tool can't check the status.

I can't see the player list

Many servers hide the player list on purpose with plugins such as ServerListPlus or PistonMOTD. It's common on big servers for security and privacy reasons. You'll see the player count, but not the individual usernames.

How do I set the server icon?

Create a PNG image that is exactly 64x64 pixels and save it as server-icon.png in the server's root folder (next to server.properties). Restart the server and the icon will appear in the server list and in our tool.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check if a Minecraft server is online?

Enter the server's IP address or domain in the field above and click "Check". The tool queries the server through the mcsrvstat.us API and shows its status, player count, version and MOTD. You can add a port (for example mc.example.com:25566) or leave it out, in which case the default port 25565 (Java) or 19132 (Bedrock) is used.

Why does a server show as offline?

The server may be shut down, restarting, have a blocked port or a wrong address. Check that the address is correct. If the server uses a custom port, add it after a colon. Some servers block outside status queries with a firewall.

Can I check a Bedrock Edition server?

Yes, the API supports both Java Edition servers (port 25565) and Bedrock Edition servers (port 19132). Enter the Bedrock server's address and it is detected automatically. If you have trouble, try adding the port: address:19132.

What is a server MOTD?

MOTD (Message of the Day) is the description shown in the server list in the Minecraft client. Admins set it in the server.properties file (the motd= parameter) or with plugins. It can contain colored text with formatting codes (&a, &b and so on).

How do I embed a server's status on my website?

After checking an online server, scroll to the "Embed code for your website" section and click "Copy embed code". Paste the copied HTML snippet on your website, blog, forum or profile. The embed shows the address, player count and version in a neat box with a link to minecraft.pl.

How do I set a custom server icon?

Create a PNG file that is exactly 64x64 pixels and name it server-icon.png. Put it in the server's root folder (next to the server.properties file) and restart the server. The icon will appear in the server list and in our tool.

How often is the server data updated?

Every click on "Check" sends a new request to the mcsrvstat.us API, which queries the server. The API caches results for about 5 minutes, so if the server just changed status, wait a moment and check again.
