What is crafting in Minecraft?
Crafting is the system for making items in Minecraft. You arrange materials in specific patterns on a 2x2 crafting grid (in your inventory) or a 3x3 grid (at a crafting table). For example, 3 planks in a row make slabs, and 2 planks plus 2 sticks make a hoe. The game has over 380 recipes.
How do I make a crafting table?
You make a crafting table from 4 wooden planks in a 2x2 square in your inventory. Planks come from any log (1 log = 4 planks). The table gives you the 3x3 grid, which opens up all the advanced recipes.
How do I make a furnace in Minecraft?
You make a furnace from 8 cobblestone placed around the edge of the 3x3 grid, leaving the middle empty. You get cobblestone by mining stone with a wooden pickaxe or better. A furnace smelts ores and blocks, and cooks food.
What is the tool material hierarchy?
Wood, stone, iron, gold (weak but fast), diamond and netherite. Each material has its own durability, mining speed and mining tier. An iron pickaxe is the minimum for mining diamonds, and you need a diamond pickaxe for obsidian.
How do I make netherite in Minecraft?
Find ancient debris in the Nether, most often at Y level 15. Smelt it in a furnace into netherite scrap. Combine 4 netherite scraps and 4 gold ingots at a crafting table to get a netherite ingot. Then combine the ingot with a diamond item at a smithing table.
