Minecraft Dungeons 2 Capes and How to Get Them

Mojang has detailed 6 capes tied to Minecraft Dungeons II. You get the Hero Cape for playing the first game and logging into the sequel with the same Microsoft account before December 31, 2026. The Aurora Cape for regular Minecraft requires watching streams on TikTok or Twitch until October 14. The Soul Cape comes with the Deluxe Edition, and the Twisted Cape was a pre-order bonus.

Hero Cape: a cape for playing the first Minecraft Dungeons

The Hero Cape goes to players who played the first Minecraft Dungeons game and log into Dungeons II with the same Microsoft account. Do it before December 31, 2026. The cape unlocks in Dungeons II and in regular Minecraft.

According to the official FAQ on minecraft.net, playing the first game through Game Pass, on Steam, or in a friend's co-op session also counts.

A Microsoft account also comes in handy in the game itself: heroes are saved on servers, and linking accounts from different platforms to one Microsoft account gives you shared progress. Read more in our article on co-op and crossplay in Minecraft Dungeons 2.

Aurora Cape: watch Minecraft Dungeons 2 until October 14

The Aurora Cape is a reward for watching Minecraft Dungeons II streams, but you can only wear it in regular Minecraft (Java Edition or Bedrock Edition), not in Dungeons II.

Streams with rewards enabled count, and only live watch time does: at least 3 minutes on TikTok or 15 minutes on Twitch. The window opened on launch day, September 29, and runs until October 14, 2026, 11:59 PM Pacific time.

In Poland the window only closes on the morning of October 15, so the whole evening of October 14 still counts.

After watching, you still need to claim the cape. The platform sends you a code: on Twitch it goes to your Inventory, on TikTok to your notifications. Enter it at minecraft.net/redeem by October 31, 2026 at the latest. We describe it step by step in our Minecraft redeem guide. Each account can claim 1 code, and the pool of codes is limited.

Soul Cape and Twisted Cape: Deluxe Edition and pre-order

The Soul Cape is part of the Deluxe Edition and can only be worn in Dungeons II. Besides the game, this edition includes 4 extra hero skins, which are golden variants of Valorie, Kellen, Ren, and Flores, plus the Blub pet and DLC 1 and 2.

Deluxe costs 219 zł on Steam, in the Microsoft Store, and in the PlayStation Store. Owners of the standard version can buy the Deluxe Upgrade for 89 zł on Steam and in the Microsoft Store, or for 90 zł in the PlayStation Store (as of October 7, 2026). On Switch 2, Deluxe content reportedly unlocks only on the profile that bought it, while other profiles get the base version. This was reported by GoNintendo on October 4, and Mojang hadn't commented on it as of then.

The Twisted Cape was a pre-order bonus, along with the Twisted Chicken pet, and the offer closed on launch day, September 29, 2026. According to Mojang's materials on minecraft.net, you can also wear this cape in Minecraft: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. If you ordered the game before launch, you can still claim it: just launch Dungeons II on the same Microsoft account.

Corrupted Creeper Cape and Special Cape: what we know

The Corrupted Creeper Cape reaches players during various events and promotional campaigns, both online and in person.

A Mojang graphic also lists a code from a card handed out at Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, as well as a task involving watching streams on TikTok or Twitch. You can only wear it in Dungeons II, though. No dates have been given for future campaigns, so keep an eye on Mojang's announcements and our Minecraft news.

The Special Cape is a mystery for now: Mojang calls it shrouded in mystery and hasn't revealed how to get it (as of October 7, 2026). Be cautious with offers of "codes" for it from outside Mojang's channels.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 capes in regular Minecraft

Mojang says 3 capes can be worn in regular Minecraft:

Hero Cape: confirmed by the FAQ on minecraft.net.
Twisted Cape: in Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, according to Mojang's materials.
Aurora Cape: Minecraft only, it isn't in Dungeons II.

The Soul Cape and Corrupted Creeper Cape stay in Dungeons II, and Mojang hasn't said anything yet about the Special Cape.

It depends on the cape: you get the Hero Cape for playing the first game on the same Microsoft account, the Soul Cape with the Deluxe Edition, and the Corrupted Creeper Cape at events or for watching streams. The Aurora Cape, also earned by watching streams, goes to regular Minecraft, not Dungeons II.

How long can you claim the Hero Cape?

Before December 31, 2026. Log into Minecraft Dungeons II with the same Microsoft account you used in the first game, and don't leave it to the last minute.

Can you still get the Aurora Cape?

The watching window runs until October 14, 2026, 11:59 PM Pacific time, which is the morning of October 15 in Poland. You claim the cape for your watched minutes by October 31, 2026 at the latest. It's the nearest deadline of all the capes tied to Minecraft Dungeons 2.
