Frequently asked questions

What is the rarest item in Minecraft?

The Dragon Egg. There is exactly one in each world. It appears after you kill the Ender Dragon for the first time and can't be obtained again. On servers it's the most valuable item.

What is the best weapon in Minecraft?

For maximum damage, the mace (damage grows with fall height, with no limit). For all-round use, a netherite sword with Sharpness V and Fire Aspect II. At range, a bow with Power V deals over 25 damage per shot.

How does netherite gear differ from diamond gear?

Netherite gear is about 30% more durable, has more armor toughness, and gives knockback resistance (40% for a full set). Most importantly, it doesn't burn in lava. Diamond gear is easier to get, but netherite is the end tier.

Where do you find the Elytra?

Elytra are found only in End ships, the flying ships next to End cities in the End dimension. You first have to defeat the Ender Dragon, find an End gateway, and explore the outer islands until you find an End city with a ship.

What is Mending and how do you get it?

Mending is an enchantment that repairs an item using experience: instead of filling your XP bar, the XP goes toward repairing your tools and armor. You mostly get it from a villager librarian in exchange for emeralds. Reset the librarian's offers (break and replace the lectern) until it offers Mending.
