Minecraft seed preview: a terrain map from any seed
Enter a seed, pick the center of the map (X, Z) and a sampling step. You get a 2D map of terrain heights, from deep oceans to mountain peaks, generated with the same algorithm as Minecraft Java Edition 1.21. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your seed and coordinates never leave your device.
How it works
Enter a seed
A 64-bit number (from -9.2 × 10¹⁸ to 9.2 × 10¹⁸). Paste the seed of your own world or click "Random".
Set the coordinates
X and Z are the center of the map. The spawn point is usually close to (0, 0), so enter 0, 0 to see the starting terrain.
Pick a step
Step = how many blocks each pixel of the map covers. A small step shows the most detail, a large step covers the biggest area and renders fastest.

The URL holds every parameter (S=, x=, z=, step=). Copy it and send it to friends, and they will open exactly the same preview.
Limitations
- We support Java Edition 1.21 only. Bedrock uses a different generation algorithm, so its map can differ.
- We show terrain heights only. Biomes, structures (villages, strongholds, ancient cities), caves and ores will come in later versions.
- The algorithm is based on the deepslate library by Misode, the same one used by misode.github.io.
- Generation runs in a Web Worker, but the first render can take a few seconds while it loads ~280 KB of worldgen data.
