Minecraft is returning to TwitchCon San Diego 2026, the biggest American convention for Twitch streamers, running November 13 to 15 at the San Diego Convention Center. Mojang has prepared a dedicated zone for attendees, an exclusive cape, and the MC Championship finale. Minecraft's official YouTube channel confirmed the game's presence at the event with a short teaser titled "Minecraft is back at TwitchCon San Diego!"

Minecraft Arena and the Hunt for Emerald Stickers

According to the official article on minecraft.net, every convention attendee can pick up a special ribbon called the Inventory Ribbon, which attaches to their TwitchCon badge. It has three empty slots waiting for Emerald Stickers, which can be earned two ways: by attending sessions marked "Minecraft Emerald" on the schedule, or by visiting the Minecraft Arena.

The Arena itself features gaming stations, creative building challenges, and photo zones, all of which also award stickers. The mechanic is identical to the one used at TwitchCon Europe in Rotterdam on May 30 and 31, 2026, where Mojang first tested this system.

Crafter Cape Worth More Than the Game Itself

Collecting all three stickers lets you redeem a card with a code for the Crafter Cape at the Cape Trader in Minecraft Village. It's the first convention-exclusive cape since MINECON 2016, and it works in both Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition.

Even though code distribution isn't capped (each attendee can only claim one), after the May edition in Rotterdam, Crafter Cape codes showed up on eBay priced between 400 and as much as 1344 dollars for completed auctions, with some listings going for 600 to 750 dollars, according to Dexerto. Mojang doesn't endorse third-party resale of codes, and the only recommended way to get the cape remains picking it up in person at the convention.

MC Championship: Absolute Zero on the Twitch Rivals Arena

The sporting highlight of the program will be MC Championship: Absolute Zero, scheduled for November 15, 2026, at 20:00 UTC (21:00 in Poland), on the Twitch Rivals Arena stage. The tournament is organized by Noxcrew, and for the series this marks the 70th MC Championship overall, the ninth of Season 6, and the seventh held as part of the Twitch Rivals cycle.

Five full rosters have already been confirmed:

  • Red Rabbits: BaboAbe, Foolish Gamers, PeteZahHutt, TheOrionSound
  • Orange Ocelots: hannahxxrose, ish13c, MinuteTech, TinaKitten
  • Yellow Yaks: AnsiChan, CrystalMolly, iChurrox, Shadoune666
  • Lime Llamas: 4CVIT, Michela, Pangi, Roscumber
  • Green Geckos: FitMC, jojosolos, Ph1LzA, Pyroscythe

The remaining teams, including the Cyan Coyotes, Aqua Axolotls, Blue Bats, Purple Pandas, and Pink Parrots, are still waiting to have their rosters announced, with twenty more players yet to be assigned to teams. Interestingly, despite the winter theme of this edition, the organizers haven't prepared any winter-themed team costumes, something that had already become a tradition for previous winter MCC editions.

The Bigger Picture: Minecraft Live and a Permanent Presence at TwitchCon

The return to San Diego continues a strategy Mojang started pursuing earlier this year. On May 30, 2026, during TwitchCon Europe in Rotterdam, the first-ever episode of Minecraft Live broadcast live from a Twitch convention aired, featuring announcements for the third 2026 drop with a new biome, a sequel to the Minecraft movie, and a new enemy from Minecraft Dungeons II.

Since 2025, Minecraft has taken part in panels and zones at both European and American editions of TwitchCon, partnering with tournaments and partner brands along the way. The November edition in San Diego will show whether the sticker system and exclusive capes become a permanent fixture of the convention calendar. Details from the event itself, including any new announcements made during MC Championship, will be covered as they happen in our news section.
