Minecraft Realms is celebrating Halloween with another round of seasonal maps created by community builders for October 2026. In the official post on minecraft.net, the Java Realms Content Team announced the release of more than a dozen new adventure maps, minigames, and updates to existing maps, all available immediately to Realms owners in Minecraft Java Edition.
How to enable the holiday maps on Realms
To play the new maps, launch Minecraft Java Edition, log into Realms, pick a slot you're okay with overwriting (or use the minigame slot), then open "Configure," click "Reset World," and choose the category you're interested in. From that same screen you can access everything released for this Halloween edition, split into adventure maps, minigames, and world templates.
Anyone who hasn't tried Realms yet can take advantage of the 30-day free trial by clicking the blue diamond next to the Minecraft Realms button on the title screen of Minecraft Java Edition and following the instructions. It's a convenient alternative to running your own server, since Mojang handles the world hosting.
Adventure maps full of horror
The first major new release is "A shroomy night" by creator Fasading, an adventure map where the player visits grandma for mushroom soup, only to be woken by strange noises and find her missing. You'll need to make your way through a dark forest, solve puzzles, and face mushroom-shaped monsters to find your missing grandmother, though as the map description reveals, she won't be alone.
The second entry is "Eclipse of Soul," a joint creation by pigwa, eepyhan, InterWall, and SmorOfficial. This two-player map casts you as the Eclipse Twins, chosen to restore the balance between day and night in a world trapped in eternal darkness. It features exploration of frozen lands, logic puzzles, and battles against powerful bosses before light can return to the world.
The Masquerade minigame and other day-one releases
For players who prefer social competition, there's "The Masquerade" from Gamemode 4, a social deduction game where players split into two sides: Good and Evil. Everyone gets a role with a special ability; Good must banish the Demon and its allies, while Evil wins by eliminating the opposing side. Gathering clues around the mansion, calling for trials, and accusing other players determine who wins the round.
The same day also saw the debut of more than a dozen other maps, including "Crimson Eclipse" by Cold pals, "Eerie Hills" by BlockTitans, "Phantasmic Anomaly" by Totally Not A Build Team and TinkelMuffin_, "Spooktacular Settlement" by Block by Block, and "Spooky Town" by ERROR 404. The adventure category also added "The Am-Ba Hart" by Ctarron and "Shadowbound Run" by CubicArchitects, while minigame fans got "Gourd Guard" from the team of craftdiamonds, Sir_Reddev, and CaelusZ. A new world template, "Jokla" by GroupMCB, was also added.
Big updates to existing maps
Mojang didn't forget about maps that have been on Realms for a while. "Volley Charge" got an overhaul of most of its events, new Low Gravity and Ice modes, tutorial fixes, a long-awaited patch for mobs failing to spawn on Realms, a fixed arena-shrinking counter, and an update to version 26.3. Meanwhile, "Songs of Greavesoyl" gained two new characters, Narius and Faril, reworked versions of Venorax and Cer, dedicated ranged attacks for most shooters, a new map called "Howling Homestead," a refreshed training room, and numerous balance fixes.
Bug fixes also landed on the maps Beaconators, The Hauntpuzzled House, The Ancient Temple, Boom Brawl, Pizza Time!, Project Astro, Sumo Smackdown, Rhythm Break, Trident Blitz, Paradox Effect, and Void Chains. Meanwhile, some old, familiar maps returned to Realms after being pulled from rotation earlier: Puzzle Wars, Picture-It!, Against Iskerside, Anaglyph, and Sandstorm.
Creator program and the post's joking tone
The blog post, written by Oskar Thysell of the Java Realms Creator team, keeps its usual joking, Halloween-flavored tone. The author describes a colleague acting suspiciously with a note reading "Phase 1: Complete. Phase 2: Ongoing. She has no idea," a nod to the yearly rivalry over who gets to write the Realms Halloween post. The team also encourages map creators to submit their own projects through the Java Realms Content Creator Program so they can appear in future Realms editions and on minecraft.net.
For Polish players, Minecraft Realms is above all a convenient way to play together without setting up your own server. The monthly fee covers hosting, and seasonal events like Halloween add a regular dose of new content on top of that without needing to install mods or maps manually. Every map listed here is available exclusively in Minecraft Java Edition and only for players with an active Realms subscription.
