ExcellentShop: advanced shops for Minecraft servers

What ExcellentShop is

ExcellentShop is a plugin by NightExpress, the developer behind the "Excellent" plugin family (CoinsEngine, ExcellentCrates, ExcellentEnchants). What sets it apart from the competition is that one plugin gives you three types of shops: an admin GUI shop, player chest shops and NPC shops.

The plugin is free, open source and actively developed. It has over 150,000 downloads on SpigotMC. It requires Paper/Spigot 1.19.4+ and Java 17+. It can optionally integrate with Vault, CoinsEngine, PlaceholderAPI and Citizens (for NPC shops).

ExcellentShop is available on SpigotMC and GitHub.

Shop modes

ExcellentShop offers three separate shop modules:

• Static Shop (GUI): the classic admin shop, with categories and products in clickable menus. The equivalent of ShopGUI+. The admin defines the stock, and players buy and sell through /shop.
• Chest Shop: player shops on chests, similar to QuickShop Hikari. A player creates a shop with a command, and other players buy by clicking the sign.
• Virtual Shop: a global market similar to AuctionHouse. Players list items for sale, and others browse the offers in a GUI.

Each module can be enabled or disabled independently. On a survival server with a player economy, use Chest Shop + Virtual Shop. On a Skyblock server with a central shop, enable Static Shop. On an RPG server, run all three.

Configuring the GUI shop

You define Static Shop products in files in plugins/ExcellentShop/shop/:

The key feature: every product can use a different currency. You buy stone with gold (Vault), but a special decorative block with diamonds (CoinsEngine). That gives you a lot of flexibility when designing an economy.

ExcellentShop also supports stock rotation: you can set products that appear only at certain times (for example a deal of the day or a weekend sale). Prices can change automatically on a schedule.

Commands and permissions

ExcellentShop has a built-in GUI editor that lets you configure products directly in game. Click an item, set the price, currency and slot, with no YAML editing. This speeds up setup a lot on a server with a large stock.

Multiple currencies

ExcellentShop supports the following currency sources:

• Vault: the main economy currency (EssentialsX, CMI, CoinsEngine with the Vault option).
• CoinsEngine: native integration, any CoinsEngine currency without Vault.
• PlayerPoints: points as an alternative currency.
• Items: the player pays with specific items (for example 10 diamonds for a sword). Barter without a money economy.
• Experience: the player pays with XP levels.

Each product in a shop can have a different currency. You can create a "Gold shop" (Vault), a "VIP shop for diamonds" (CoinsEngine) and an "XP shop" (experience), all in one plugin.

Tips for admins

• Start with Static Shop. The GUI shop is the easiest to configure. Add Chest Shop and Virtual Shop only when your server's economy needs them.
• CoinsEngine + ExcellentShop is a powerful duo. Both plugins come from the same developer and integrate natively. Multiple currencies in CoinsEngine plus a shop per currency in ExcellentShop add up to a complete economy system.
• The in-game editor saves time. Instead of editing YAML, use /eshop editor. It is especially handy for tuning prices on a live server.
• Stock rotation keeps players coming back. A "deal of the day" with 50% off a random item motivates players to log in every day.
