Tebex (Buycraft): a store for your Minecraft server
Tebex (formerly Buycraft) is the largest store platform for game servers. It lets you build a professional web store with ranks, items and services, and it runs commands on your server automatically after a purchase. It supports PayPal, card, BLIK and paysafecard.
What Tebex is
Tebex (formerly known as Buycraft) is an e-commerce platform designed specifically for game servers, with Minecraft as its main market. It lets server owners build professional web stores where players can buy ranks, items, cosmetics and other services for real money.
The platform has been running since 2012 and has processed billions of transactions. It is the most commonly used store solution in the Minecraft ecosystem, on small private servers and large commercial networks alike.
Tebex offers a free plan with a commission on transactions and paid plans with a lower commission and extra features. Sign up at tebex.io. You can download the server plugin from SpigotMC.
How the store works
How Tebex works, step by step:
- The player opens the store's website (for example store.yourserver.com)
- They enter their Minecraft username and pick a product (for example a VIP rank)
- They pay with the method they choose (card, PayPal, BLIK, paysafecard)
- Tebex confirms the payment and sends a command to the plugin on the server
- The plugin runs the command (for example
lp user Player parent set vip) - The player gets the rank on the server immediately
If the player isn't online when they buy, the command runs automatically the next time they join. The Tebex plugin polls the API servers every few dozen seconds to check for pending transactions.
Store setup
Once you have registered an account on tebex.io and created a store, you install the plugin on your server:
- Install the Tebex plugin on your server (or on the proxy in a network)
- Run
/tebex secret YOUR_KEYwith the API key from the Tebex panel - The plugin connects to the Tebex API and starts handling transactions
The Tebex web panel lets you customize the store in full:
- Store theme: pick a ready-made template or write your own CSS
- Domain: attach your own domain (for example store.yourserver.com)
- Categories: organize products into sections (ranks, items, cosmetics)
- Coupons: discount codes with a usage limit and an expiry date
- Cart: players can buy several products at once
Creating products
Every product in Tebex consists of a name, a price, a description and the commands that run after purchase. Examples of typical products:
| Product | Price | Command |
|---|---|---|
| VIP rank (permanent) | 29.99 PLN | lp user {username} parent set vip |
| VIP rank (30 days) | 14.99 PLN | lp user {username} parent addtemp vip 30d |
| Crate key | 4.99 PLN | crate givekey {username} legendary 1 |
The {username} placeholder is automatically replaced with the name of the player who made the purchase. You can add several commands to one product, for example granting a rank, broadcasting a message on the server and adding items.
On multi-server networks, commands can run on the proxy or be forwarded to a specific backend server with CommandForward.
Payment methods
Tebex supports a wide range of payment methods:
- PayPal: the most popular method, requires a PayPal account or a card
- Credit/debit card: Visa, Mastercard, directly through Stripe
- Paysafecard: prepaid cards bought at a kiosk, popular with younger players
- BLIK: through payment gateways that support the Polish market (Przelewy24, PayU)
- Google Pay / Apple Pay: mobile payments
- Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum (optional)
Paysafecard is especially important because many players are minors without a bank account, and they can buy a prepaid card in a physical store.
Tips
- Don't sell an advantage: under Mojang's EULA, selling items that give a gameplay advantage (diamonds, armor, XP) is prohibited on monetized servers. Focus on cosmetics and convenience (a colored nickname, flight in the lobby, extra homes)
- Starter coupons: 10-20% off for new players encourages a first purchase
- Timed ranks: 30/90-day ranks generate recurring revenue, but players prefer permanent ones. Offer both options
- Top donors: show a list of the most generous donors on the store page and on the server. It motivates further purchases
- Test your commands: test every product before you launch the store. A broken command means an unhappy customer
