What are Chocapic13 Shaders?

Chocapic13 Shaders is one of the classic shader packs for Minecraft, developed for many years. The shader is known for a natural, balanced look. It doesn't overdo saturation or effects, and instead aims for realistic but still Minecraft-like lighting.

The main strength of Chocapic13 is its extensive profile system. The Toaster profile runs even on integrated Intel graphics, while Extreme offers advanced global illumination, volumetric clouds and ray-marching effects. In between are Low, Medium, High and Ultra, each adding further layers of effects.

Importantly, Chocapic13 was the base for many other popular shaders. BSL Shaders and Complementary Shaders grew out of Chocapic13's code. The original is still actively developed, though, and offers a unique, well-balanced aesthetic that many players prefer.

How to install Chocapic13 Shaders

  1. Install Iris Shaders or OptiFine.
  2. Download Chocapic13 Shaders from Modrinth. Choose the profile that matches your graphics card.
  3. Put the .zip file in .minecraft/shaderpacks/.
  4. Options > Video Settings > Shader Packs > Chocapic13 Shaders.

Are Chocapic13 Shaders good for low-end computers?

Yes. The Toaster and Low profiles are among the lightest shaders around. Toaster runs even on integrated Intel graphics, and Low gives 60+ FPS on a GTX 1050.

How many profiles does Chocapic13 have?

Six: Toaster, Low, Medium, High, Ultra and Extreme. Each profile adds more effects but needs a stronger graphics card.
