CraftServe review: Minecraft hosting
CraftServe is one of the best-known Minecraft hosts in Poland. Servers in Warsaw, Polish-language support, a simple panel. We check whether it is worth its price in 2026.
What CraftServe is
CraftServe (craftserve.pl) is a Polish Minecraft server host that has been around for over a decade. In the Polish community it is one of the best-known names in Minecraft hosting.
The main advantage of CraftServe is the location of its servers in Warsaw. For players in Poland this means a ping of 5-15 ms from anywhere in the country. For comparison, a server in Amsterdam (Shockbyte) is 25-35 ms away and one in Frankfurt (Bisect) is 20-30 ms away. In PvP that difference is noticeable.
CraftServe offers shared hosting with a web panel. You don't need to know Linux and you don't need to configure a firewall. You sign up, pick a plan, pay, and a minute later you have a running server. As simple as it gets.
CraftServe pricing in 2026
CraftServe bills in Polish zloty (PLN), which is convenient if you pay in PLN (no exchange-rate risk). The prices below are for monthly payments, and longer billing periods come with discounts.
The prices are approximate: CraftServe regularly changes its price list and runs promotions. Check current prices at craftserve.pl.
Is CraftServe expensive?
Compared with the cheapest foreign competition, yes. For 4 GB of RAM you pay ~45 PLN at CraftServe, ~40 PLN at Shockbyte and ~48 PLN at Bisect. The difference is not huge, but it adds up over time. The question is whether the extra few PLN a month over the cheapest option buys you enough in Polish-language support and the lowest ping. For most Polish servers, it does.
The CraftServe control panel
CraftServe has its own web panel (not Pterodactyl, not Multicraft). It is simple, clear and entirely in Polish. The main features:
- Server console - see the logs live and type commands straight into the browser
- File manager - browse, edit and upload files without an FTP client. It has a built-in text editor with syntax highlighting
- Modpack installer - install Forge, Fabric, NeoForge or ready-made modpacks (All the Mods, Better Minecraft, RLCraft and others) in one click
- Plugin installer - search for and install plugins from SpigotMC right from the panel
- Backups - automatic backups. You can also make manual backups in one click
- Version switching - switch between Minecraft versions without losing your world
- Task scheduler - schedule automatic restarts, commands at a set time and backups
- Subdomain - you get a free address like yournick.craftserve.pl
The panel is intuitive, and a beginner admin should find their way around it without problems. The one drawback compared with Pterodactyl is lower flexibility. You don't get full access to the file system, and you can't change some advanced JVM settings. For 90% of users that doesn't matter.
FTP/SFTP: CraftServe supports FTP and SFTP connections, so if you prefer to manage files with a client such as FileZilla or WinSCP, you can. You will find the access details in the panel under the "Settings" tab.
CraftServe performance and ping
CraftServe servers are in a data center in Warsaw. Ping from different cities in Poland:
The difference between 5 ms and 30 ms is practically unnoticeable in normal play (survival, building). But in PvP, where every frame counts, 5 ms versus 30 ms is a real advantage. If your server is built around PvP, CraftServe is hard to beat for players in Poland.
CPU performance
CraftServe uses new-generation Intel and AMD processors. In practice, a Paper server with 10-15 plugins and 10-20 players holds a stable 20 TPS (ticks per second, where 20 is the ideal). With 30+ players and heavy plugins (dynmap, WorldEdit on large selections), TPS can drop to 18-19, which is still acceptable.
As with any shared hosting, CPU performance is shared. At peak hours (evenings, weekends) it may be slightly lower. CraftServe doesn't publish exact CPU specifications, which is its standard practice and also a drawback, because you don't know exactly what you are getting.
Important: If you plan a server with a heavy modpack (for example All the Mods 9) for 20+ players, shared hosting alone may not be enough. In that case consider a VPS with dedicated resources.
Modpacks and plugins on CraftServe
CraftServe supports all the popular server platforms:
- Vanilla - the official Mojang server
- Spigot / Paper / Purpur - servers with plugins (Bukkit API)
- Forge / NeoForge - modded servers
- Fabric - lightweight modded servers
- Bedrock - support for console and mobile players
The modpack installer in the CraftServe panel offers a few dozen of the most popular packs: RLCraft, All the Mods, Better Minecraft, SkyFactory, Prominence and others. Installation takes a few minutes. You can also upload your own modpack over FTP.
You install plugins (Spigot/Paper) either through the built-in SpigotMC search or by uploading .jar files by hand to the plugins/ folder. MySQL is available, so most plugins that need a database (LuckPerms, CoreProtect, Citizens) will work without problems.
Comparison with Bisect Hosting
Bisect Hosting has a bigger modpack library (500+ versus a few dozen at CraftServe) and a faster automatic installation. If mods are your priority, Bisect may be the more convenient choice. But the ping from Poland to Frankfurt (Bisect) is 20-30 ms versus 5-15 ms to Warsaw (CraftServe).
CraftServe technical support
Polish-language support is one of CraftServe's biggest advantages. You can reach it through:
- Live chat - in the panel, available during business hours (response time: usually a few minutes)
- Ticket system - available 24/7, with an answer usually within a few hours
- Knowledge base - articles in Polish covering the most common problems
Support quality is one of the things people praise most often in CraftServe reviews. The consultants know Minecraft: you won't get a generic template reply, but concrete help with plugin configuration, diagnosing lag or fixing errors.
For beginner admins who are not fluent in English, this makes a huge difference. At a foreign host you have to describe your problem in a foreign language and hope that support understands the context. At CraftServe you simply write in Polish. If you don't speak Polish, this advantage doesn't apply to you.
The downsides of CraftServe, honestly
CraftServe is not perfect. Here are the things that may bother you:
A higher price than the cheapest competitors
For 4 GB of RAM you will pay about 45 PLN a month. At Shockbyte it is ~40 PLN, at Bisect ~48 PLN. The difference isn't drastic, but with annual payment it becomes noticeable. If every zloty counts, the cheapest foreign hosts are cheaper.
Max. 16 GB of RAM
CraftServe doesn't offer plans above 16 GB of RAM. For very large servers (50+ players, heavy modpacks) that may not be enough. In that case you will have to look at foreign competitors (Apex, Bisect - up to 32 GB) or set up a VPS.
No transparency about the CPU
CraftServe doesn't give exact CPU specifications. You don't know which processor runs your server or how many cores are shared. Competitors (Bisect, Apex) often provide this information, which makes an informed choice easier.
A panel less flexible than Pterodactyl
CraftServe's own panel is simple and intuitive, but less configurable than Pterodactyl (used by Apex and Bisect). Advanced admins may miss some options, for example full control over JVM flags or advanced task schedules.
No international locations
Servers are in Warsaw only. If your players are scattered across Europe, a server in Amsterdam or Frankfurt would be a better compromise. CraftServe is a host "made for Poland" and should be treated as such.
CraftServe vs the competition
When CraftServe wins
- Your players are from Poland (lowest ping)
- You need Polish-language support
- You are a beginner admin (the simplest panel)
- A PvP server (every millisecond of ping matters)
When the competition is better
- Budget is the priority (Shockbyte is cheaper)
- You need more than 16 GB of RAM (Apex and Bisect go up to 32 GB)
- You play with people from all over Europe (Amsterdam/Frankfurt is a better compromise)
- Heavy modpacks (Bisect has the best mod support)
Who CraftServe is for
CraftServe is a host built for Polish players and Polish admins. If your players are from Poland, you want Polish-language support and you don't want to fiddle with configuration, CraftServe is the best choice. The surcharge over foreign competitors is small, and the benefit of the lowest ping and full support in Polish is real.
It is not a host for everyone. If you need 32 GB of RAM, international locations or 500 modpacks to choose from, foreign providers will be better. If budget is the absolute priority, Shockbyte at ~10 PLN/month will give you a server that "works".
But for a typical Polish server (Survival with plugins, Skyblock, minigames, even a smaller modpack) CraftServe is the obvious choice. You set up a server in 5 minutes, have a ping below 15 ms and support that answers you in Polish within minutes. Foreign competition can't match that.
Before you buy: Check the current price list at craftserve.pl. Prices and plans may differ from those described in this review. CraftServe regularly runs promotions, especially for longer billing periods.
