Top 10 Minecraft servers - ranking by category
The best Minecraft servers in ten categories, from minigames through survival to Polish servers. Each comes with an IP address, a description and version information. The list is opened by four servers connected to this site's publisher, and we say so plainly.
We picked the single best server in each of the ten main categories. Criteria: stability, anti-grief protection, plugin quality, community activity and update frequency.
Publisher's picks: places 1-4
Disclosure: the four servers below are connected to this site's publisher. We run minecraft.pl and minigames.pl ourselves, and mcsv.pl and LeCraft.pl are partner servers. We put them first as our own recommendation, not on the basis of player counts. The picks in the ten categories further down are independent of this.
1. minecraft.pl - survival, SkyBlock and minigames
IP: minecraft.pl | Version: 1.7.x - 26.x | Java and Bedrock (GeyserMC)
The server of the minecraft.pl portal, the oldest Polish Minecraft site. Survival with land protection and an economy, SkyBlock with challenges, and community minigames. Bedrock players join without mods thanks to GeyserMC.
2. mcsv.pl - survival with an RPG layer
IP: mcsv.pl | Version: Paper 26.2 | Status: open, Java and Bedrock (port 19132)
Our partner server: survival with an RPG layer. Custom mobs and structures in the wilderness, closed dungeons with bosses (Gniew Górnika, Lord Dracula, Faraon), an Adventure Pass with seasons, quests built on BetonQuest, and its own system of items, accessories and artifacts. Bedrock crossplay through Geyser and Floodgate.
3. minigames.pl - 19 minigames in Polish
IP: minigames.pl | Version: 1.8 - 26.3 | Status: new server (October 2026), Java and Bedrock (minigames.pl, default port 19132)
Our new minigames server, opened in October 2026. It has 19 games, including Spleef, Splegg, TNT Run, TNT Tag, Block Party, One In The Chamber and Snowball Fight (Bitwa na Śnieżki), and the whole server is in Polish. It's a fresh project and we haven't measured its traffic yet, so in the minigames category below we still point to Hypixel.
4. LeCraft.pl - OneBlock solo and with a team
IP: lecraft.pl | Version: 1.21.11 or 26.3 | Status: open, Bedrock: bedrock.lecraft.pl (default port 19132)
A partner server with a OneBlock mode. You start with a single regenerating block, unlock further phases with new blocks and creatures, and quests with rewards hint at what to build next. You play solo or with a team. The description and joining instructions are on the LeCraft.pl page. We haven't measured player counts yet, so Hypixel SkyBlock stays in the Skyblock category below.
1. Minigames - Hypixel
IP: mc.hypixel.net | Version: 1.8-1.21 | Players: 50,000-150,000 online
The biggest Minecraft server in the world. BedWars, SkyWars, Murder Mystery, Build Battle, Duels: dozens of modes with millions of active players. Matchmaking, ranks, stats, seasonal events. The plugin quality is out of reach for other servers, since Hypixel employs more than 30 full-time developers. The only limitation: ping from Europe is 100-120ms (the servers are in the US), but it's playable.
2. Survival - EarthMC
IP: play.earthmc.net | Version: 1.20-1.21 | Players: 2,000-8,000 online
A 1:1500 map of the Earth where players build nations, trade and wage wars. You can found a nation anywhere on the map and build its capital on the real coordinates. The Towny system protects against grief, and the economy is based on gold. A geopolitical community: alliances, conflicts, diplomacy. One of the most unique survival servers in the history of Minecraft.
3. RPG - Wynncraft
IP: play.wynncraft.com | Version: 1.20+ | Players: 1,000-5,000 online
A full-scale MMORPG built on the Minecraft engine. 5 character classes, thousands of quests, a huge open world, bosses, dungeons, guilds, PvP arenas. Wynncraft isn't a Minecraft server with plugins, it's a separate game with 10 years of development behind it. No mods needed: the resource pack installs automatically. The best free alternative to WoW in blocky form.
4. Creative - PlotSquared / Creativo
IP: mc.creativo.one | Version: 1.20-1.21 | Players: 500-2,000 online
A creative server with a plot system and WorldEdit for every player. Build without limits: every plot is 100x100 blocks, with unlimited resources, time and space. A voting system lets you rate other people's builds. Regular building contests with prizes. An ideal place to learn building and test ideas.
5. SMP / Hermitcraft-style - Vanilla Realms
IP: (whitelisted - application on Discord)
Public Hermitcraft-style SMP servers are rare, since most are private, whitelisted communities. The best way to find one is the r/MinecraftBuddies or r/mcservers subreddit. Look for servers with 10-30 players, an active Discord and a no grief, no steal rule. These small communities give the best multiplayer experience in Minecraft.
6. Factions - MassiveCraft
IP: play.massivecraft.com | Version: 1.20+ | Players: 300-1,500 online
The creators of the original Factions plugin have run this server since 2011. You create a faction, claim land and raid your enemies. Economy, alliances, wars over territory. MassiveCraft also adds RPG and roleplay elements: lore, races, character backstories. The oldest and most developed factions server in history.
7. Skyblock - Hypixel Skyblock
IP: mc.hypixel.net | Version: 1.8-1.21
A separate game inside Hypixel: a skyblock with systems so extensive that it has its own auction house, dungeons, bosses, skills and an economy. Hundreds of hours of content. Hypixel SkyBlock is effectively a standalone game, and players spend thousands of hours in it without touching the other modes.
8. Prison - Purple Prison
IP: purpleprison.org | Version: 1.8-1.21 | Players: 500-3,000 online
You dig in the mine, earn money and rank up until you reach freedom. A prestige system lets you reset your progress for bonuses. An item market, gangs, PvP in an arena. One of the most popular Prison servers for years, regularly updated with new mines and events.
9. PvP - PvP Legacy
IP: play.pvplegacy.net | Version: 1.8-1.21 | Players: 500-3,000 online
Pure PvP in many formats: 1v1 duels, FFA, KitPvP, UHC. An ELO ranking, leaderboards, tournament challenges. It supports both 1.8 combat (click spam) and 1.9+ (cooldowns). The best option for training PvP in Minecraft, since matchmaking pairs players of similar skill.
10. Polish servers - GrajPo.pl
IP: grajpo.pl | Version: 1.20-1.21
The best Polish Minecraft server in 2026. Survival, skyblock, creative and minigame modes, all in Polish with a Polish community. GriefPrevention, an economy, player shops, regular updates. Low ping (the servers are in Poland), active staff and Discord. We recommend it as a first server for Polish-speaking players.
You'll find the full list of Polish servers, with sorting, voting and status checks, in our Minecraft server list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Minecraft server in 2026?
It depends on what you're looking for. For minigames: Hypixel. For survival: EarthMC. For RPG: Wynncraft. For PvP: PvP Legacy. For players in Poland who want low ping: GrajPo.pl and our own minecraft.pl and minigames.pl, together with the partner servers mcsv.pl and LeCraft.pl, which open this list as the publisher's recommendation.
How do I join a Minecraft server?
In the main menu click Multiplayer → Add Server, enter the server's IP address (e.g. mc.hypixel.net) and click Join Server. Make sure you have the right game version.
Do I need an official Minecraft account?
Most big servers (Hypixel, Wynncraft, EarthMC) require an official Minecraft account (Java Edition). We always recommend buying the original game.
