Minecraft has gotten a free "Wilderness Bound: Haunts & Harvests" sound pack, released by studio Mush Co on the Marketplace for autumn and Halloween. The resource pack swaps out sounds in the Bedrock Edition, mixing cozy harvest-season vibes with a touch of horror, and it hit the game on October 28, 2026. No need to spend any Minecoins to grab it, since the whole pack is completely free.

An autumn forest that sounds different

The pack changes the world's acoustic backdrop to fit both the harvest season and Halloween at once. Mush Co lists an enhanced howling wind blowing through the Pale Garden biome, creaking doors and chests, crackling campfires, snapping twigs underfoot, owl hoots, and toad croaks. On top of that come sounds from nighttime mobs, meant to feel creepier than the game's default audio.

As GoNintendo describes it, the pack offers "amped-up cackles and uncompromisingly zombie-ish zombie sounds," which sums up its vibe pretty well: it's still Minecraft, but with sharper, more theatrical touches of dread. The whole thing doesn't change how any blocks or mobs look, only the world's soundtrack.

Sound packs as a new Marketplace category

"Haunts & Harvests" is one of the first examples of a new content category on the Marketplace: sound packs. The feature was announced at Minecraft Live in September 2026, and technical support for it landed in the game with Preview 26.60, the update we've already covered on minecraft.pl. Until now, Marketplace creators could sell textures, add-ons, and worlds; now they can also offer standalone resource packs focused purely on audio.

The mechanic is simple: a sound pack is a resource pack that replaces OGG audio files referenced in the sound_definitions.json file, without touching any textures or models. Since the Marketplace only works on Bedrock Edition, the feature currently doesn't apply to Java Edition, where similar effects can only be achieved through manually installed resource packs outside the game's store. Mush Co and the Wilderness Bound season

Mush Co is a Microsoft partner studio, known so far mainly for the dinosaur add-on The Dawn Era on the Marketplace. This time the team went for something less obvious than another mob-focused add-on: a layer of sound design that fits thematically with 2026's third major update, Wilderness Bound.

Wilderness Bound, meaning Bedrock 26.50 and its Java counterpart 26.3, launched on September 15, 2026, and introduced the Pale Garden biome, abandoned campsites, and camping gear, including blankets, cushions, and Straw Beds. The free sound pack doesn't require owning the update itself, but it sounds best in that exact forested, autumn setting that Wilderness Bound added to the game. You can download this version from the Bedrock Edition 26.3 section on our site.

What's next: paid sound packs starting in November

"Haunts & Harvests" is a promotional, free entry into this new content category, but upcoming sound packs already come with their own price tags. October's Marketplace Pass bundle included, among others, Askew: Audio Overhaul by Syclone Studios, featuring over five hours of music and more than 2,000 new sound effects, far bigger in scale than Mush Co's free pack.

According to information cited by GoNintendo, the next wave of sound packs is set to launch on the Marketplace on November 10, 2026. If that schedule holds, Bedrock Edition players will soon have a much wider selection of official sounds to choose from, ranging from subtle ambient tracks to full audio overhauls of the game. We'll keep covering upcoming packs and updates in the news section of minecraft.pl.
