The pre-release of the latest Redstone Update is here! After a week packed with bug fixes (a huge number of them), we've got a build that most players will get next week. The official release of 1.5 is planned for March 13.

  • Added the Redstone Comparator
  • Added the Hopper
  • Added the Dropper
  • Added Activator Rails 
  • Added the Daylight Sensor
  • Added the Trapped Chest
  • Added new pressure plates
  • Added the Block of Redstone
  • Added Nether Bricks
  • Added Nether Quartz and the ability to mine it
  • Added new commands:
    • /scoreboard
    • /effect
  • Containers and mobs can now have custom names
  • Changed inventory management
  • Texture packs now use separate images for each item, and you can make animations with them
  • Added new smooth lighting options (none, minimal, maximum)
  • More descriptive death messages
  • Made some mobs tougher on Hard difficulty
  • Tons of bug fixes
  • Removed Herobrine
