On October 16, 2026, the Avatar Legends add-on arrived on the Minecraft Marketplace, bringing the elementbending mechanics from Avatar: The Last Airbender to Bedrock Edition. Unlike the previous collaboration with the franchise in 2022, the new content isn't locked into a single pre-made map: players can use their newly gained powers in any world they're already building, whether on a server or in survival.

What the Avatar Legends add-on actually does

The pack comes from Gamemode One, a studio known for earlier Marketplace projects. The product description reads: "Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Bend the elements in your own worlds with this official add-on. Discover temples scattered across your worlds and learn bending techniques passed down from past lives."

Mechanically, the add-on is built around four elements, each with three techniques to unlock. You can, for example, raise walls out of the ground, create water arms that work like a grappling hook, or use streams of fire as a sort of jetpack. In total, the add-on includes four basic starter abilities: Air Swipe, Earth Pull, Fire Fist and Water Whip, and you unlock further techniques gradually.

Temples, spirits and the Avatar State

To get the new powers, you need to find one of the four elemental temples scattered around the world: air, earth, fire and water. In the temples, you learn from Avatar spirits and meditate to master new techniques. The most anticipated reward is unlocking the legendary Avatar State, which in the show gave the hero access to the full power of all the elements at once, and in the add-on is meant to work similarly, as a boost to all techniques at the same time.

The add-on also introduces 34 decorative and functional blocks with an Asian-architecture-inspired look, so builders get new materials for constructing their own temples or villages in the style of the show. Everything runs on version 1.0.5 of the add-on, and the authors say they plan to keep developing the content.

How much it costs and who can get it

Avatar Legends costs 1340 Minecoins on the Minecraft Marketplace, which puts it among the bigger, more fleshed-out premium add-ons rather than the small cosmetic packs. The add-on is only available on Bedrock Edition: Java Edition players can't get it, since the Marketplace only exists in that version of the game. It's also worth noting that some Marketplace content reaches Marketplace Pass and Realms Plus subscribers, though whether Avatar Legends becomes part of a subscription depends on Mojang's decisions during future rotations of the offer.

For Polish players on Minecraft Bedrock Edition, this is one more reason to log into your Microsoft account and check out the Marketplace, especially since crossovers with popular shows and movies happen less often than typical texture packs or minigames.

A second attempt after the 2022 add-on

Mojang's first collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender took place in 2022 and was limited to one ready-made adventure map, where players went through a pre-designed story. The new Avatar Legends goes a step further: elementbending works as a mechanic added to an existing world, much like other add-ons such as Civilizations or Bosses Rise, which reached the Marketplace in the same month as part of the October lineup.

This shows a broader trend in Mojang's Marketplace policy: the studio increasingly focuses on add-ons that expand what you can do in any world, rather than closed, one-off experiences. For people building their own servers or map packs, that means more freedom to combine mechanics from different packs, including crossovers with popular licenses.

What's next for elementbending in Minecraft

For now, Mojang hasn't announced whether the bending mechanics from Avatar Legends will come to Java Edition in any form or become part of the base game. However, the history of collaborations with outside franchises on the Marketplace shows that popular add-ons often get expanded through later content updates, so more temples or bending techniques may show up in future patches of the add-on.
